NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

Fashion week is only a month away.  The anticipation to see what our favorite designers have in store for the 2019 fall/winter ready-to-wear shows is building and the ongoing hype around bloggers and influencers in the industry.  For example, if you didn’t know who Nico Panda is by the end of last season, you’ve probably been living under a rock.

Which model(s) will be in high demand?   Who is the next fashion editor to go from obscure to influential? "Joseph Benjamin editor-in-Chief of fashion in revolt lol."  Will newly placed creative directors spread their wings at their respective new fashion houses?  Will another designer change location or pull out of fashion week altogether? Who’s sitting in the front row? All these questions will be answered in the coming weeks during fashion week; we let go of the drama and look forward to Winter.

After 2 high-profile years Raf Simons is leaving Calvin Kline. The New York Times notes that the relationship between Simons and the brand was irreparably fractured last month when the chief executive of the corporation that owns Calvin Klein apparently appeared to blame the chief creative officer for declining sales. Pay close attention to Raf Simons, who unveiled his SS19 collection. Nico Panda is a millennial brand focused on the here and now. The creative inspiration and insight comes from owner and creative director Nicola Formichetti.

Our ideas of fashion are changing and evolving, we are looking for more creative ways to express ourselves. Style is the journey and fashion is the destination. Remember to always be creative and own who you are and what you love. Celebrate who you are authentically and show the world your culture of fashion.
